Documents for a Legal Ceremony

Submit your documents at least two months before your wedding date, and plan to be on the island at least 72 hours before the ceremony.

  • Notarized copies of the birth certificate for the bride and groom
  • If divorced, the final divorce decree
  • If widowed, the death certificate of the former spouse
  • Photo identification: the picture page of your passport or a driver’s licence
  • If your name has changed, the deed poll or adoption papers
  • Your home address after the wedding

Renewals and Symbolic Vows

A symbolic ceremony or renewal of vows keeps the paperwork light:

  • Photo identification: the picture page of your passport or a driver’s licence
  • A copy of your marriage certificate
