Legal Weddings
Documents for a Legal Ceremony
Submit your documents at least two months before your wedding date, and plan to be on the island at least 72 hours before the ceremony.
- Notarized copies of the birth certificate for the bride and groom
- If divorced, the final divorce decree
- If widowed, the death certificate of the former spouse
- Photo identification: the picture page of your passport or a driver’s licence
- If your name has changed, the deed poll or adoption papers
- Your home address after the wedding

A symbolic ceremony or renewal of vows keeps the paperwork light:
- Photo identification: the picture page of your passport or a driver’s licence
- A copy of your marriage certificate
